That is quite an astute, intriguing, and possibly true assessment of our still violent human character. However, I somewhat doubt that artists , especially sensitive ones, need or could even produce great, sublime art if they are surrounded by brutality, or if they would be immersed in violence themselves.

Indeed Alexandria, and it is quite strange that we humans can advance in leaps and bounds in all scientific, technology etc. etc. areas - but are solidly stuck in our appalling violent past and present ways. :-(

Some things take longer in our race to evolve I suppose...animal instinct...but if not for the need for brutality, abuse and conquest there would be no passion, no art, and no appreciation for peace and beauty...at least that's my take on it ;)

Caught my Eye again and reminded me of the ISIS like conquistadors who destroyed most of the irreplaceable Inca art.

Youre right...it kind of does...too bad such a beautiful structure has such a dark past behind it

A rather ominous painting to remind us that nothing lasts forever, but is swept away by the storms of history and time...

About Alexandria Weaselwise Busen

Alexandria Weaselwise Busen

Weaselwise is a fifth generation starving artist and St. Louis Missouri native. When not busily writing stories or decorating her canvas with images that will one day illustrate her books, she can be found either frolicking throughout fields and forests in search of wild edibles and medicinal herbs or daylighting as a medical aesthetician and alternative healer. Her restless paws have carried her to the Utopian refuge of beautiful southwest Florida, the bewitching sea islands of the South Carolina Lowcountry, the lazy arctic chill of northeastern Pennsylvania, the speedy Piedmont of North Carolina, and then back across The Grand Mississippi River to the foothills of her youth where she now resides with her litter of two.
