Artist's Description
This is a depiction of a black morel mushroom "morchella"; not only a delicacy coveted by both old world and new world chefs, but a hunting season recognized by devout foragers throughout Europe and the United States. The Morel Mushroom is not only prized for its monetary worth in the culinary field...it has an air of mystery that surrounds its elusiveness as it never fails to bend the rules pertaining to its growth patterns and even its inability to be classified as a "true mushroom" as its species is a prehistoric form of the modern mushroom. The magic that this "mushroom" holds is its ability raise even the laziest of "couch potatoes" from the sofa and send each tracking through forest, field, briar patch and flood lain in search of a delicacy yet unrivaled by any other wild edible. Be warned, though. Once you taste one and are fortunate to follow in the footsteps of a sage morel hunter that is kind enough to teach you how to hunt the Elusive Morel, your dreams will be haunted in ev...
About Alexandria Weaselwise Busen
Weaselwise is a fifth generation starving artist and St. Louis Missouri native. When not busily writing stories or decorating her canvas with images that will one day illustrate her books, she can be found either frolicking throughout fields and forests in search of wild edibles and medicinal herbs or daylighting as a medical aesthetician and alternative healer. Her restless paws have carried her to the Utopian refuge of beautiful southwest Florida, the bewitching sea islands of the South Carolina Lowcountry, the lazy arctic chill of northeastern Pennsylvania, the speedy Piedmont of North Carolina, and then back across The Grand Mississippi River to the foothills of her youth where she now resides with her litter of two.

I have not seen a morel since my youth. As your description indicates--you should be a novelist as your pen is as mighty as your brush--hunting the Morel is not only a coveted sport but getting someone to reveal their hunting places is as much a game as finding the prize--but, then, that was long ago and not so much in vogue in this modern video game world.
