My dearest friend, my beautiful Alexandria, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this precious gift. I will treasure it for the rest of my life; but the most precious gift I have ever been given is you, your beautiful friendship, your kindness, thoughtfulness, integrity, and decency. I love you so deeply and completely.

One night a Chinese sage had a dream in which he was a butterfly fluttering over meadows and gardens. When he woke up, he sat at the edge of his bed and thought to himself, " Am I a human who just dreamed he was a butterfly or am I a butterfly who is now dreaming he's a human ?" The story reminded me of a statement by Edgar Alan Poe : "ALL THAT WE ARE OR SEEM TO BE IS A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM."

The short life of the Luna only adds to her splendor; in fall two years ago I had the pleasure of finding a luna caterpillar on my birthday, brought him in my home and placed him in a sweetgum branch over my mantle. He made a cocoon we watched over all winter and into early spring. Then one April morning I found a beautiful luna still drying her wing upon my draperies. It was nothing short of magical. This painting was done while I watched her dry her wings....I just added the Morel and the night sky to emphasize the moment ;)

Wonderful color and composition. Love how the deep blues set off the beautiful light colors of the moth! L/F
